Terms of Service

The rules of the road for using InsureOnGo. Please read them carefully — by using our site or services, you agree to these terms.

Last reviewed: May 2026

1. Acceptance of terms

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) form a binding agreement between you and InsureOnGo.Com Partnering Insurtech Limited (“InsureOnGo”, “we”, “us”). By accessing or using our website, our WhatsApp service (ChatSure™), our APIs, or any related service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

2. Definitions

  • “Insurer” — a NAICOM-licensed insurance company underwriting a policy displayed on our marketplace.
  • “Policy” — the insurance contract between you and the Insurer, evidenced by a certificate or schedule.
  • “Premium” — the amount you pay for cover, calculated by the Insurer based on the information you provide.
  • “Service” — the InsureOnGo marketplace, including the website, mobile experiences, ChatSure™, and any related tools.
  • “User” / “you” — any person who accesses or uses the Service.

3. Our role

InsureOnGo operates a digital insurance marketplace. We are a distributor and Partnering Insurtech under NAICOM's NIIRA 2025 framework — we are not an underwriter. Cover, claims and policy obligations sit with the Insurer named on your certificate. We earn a distribution commission from the Insurer; you pay the same premium whether you buy through us or directly from the Insurer.

Where we provide tools, calculators or comparison features, they are designed to help you make an informed choice. They do not constitute insurance advice unless explicitly stated and delivered by a licensed adviser.

4. Use of the site

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes, and not to:

  • Provide false, misleading or fraudulent information.
  • Use the Service in a way that could damage, disable or impair it.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service or any system or network connected to it.
  • Use any automated means (bots, scrapers, harvesters) to access the Service without our prior written consent.
  • Resell, redistribute or commercially exploit the Service or its content.

5. Accounts & security

Some features require an account. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity that happens under your account. Notify us immediately at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorised access. We may suspend or terminate any account that breaches these Terms or that is being used fraudulently.

6. Quotes, policies & payment

  • Quotes are indicative until cover is bound and a certificate is issued by the Insurer.
  • Cover begins only when the premium has been received in full and the Insurer has issued a policy schedule or certificate.
  • You must give complete and accurate answers to all questions. Non-disclosure or misrepresentation may void your cover or reduce a claim payout.
  • Premiums are quoted in Nigerian Naira (NGN) and are inclusive of any applicable taxes and levies unless stated otherwise.
  • Payment is processed by our PCI-DSS-compliant payment partners. We do not store full card numbers.

7. Claims

Claims are handled by the Insurer that underwrote your policy. InsureOnGo will assist you with the notification, document gathering and follow-up — including our 72-hour settlement promise on eligible claims — but the final decision to admit or decline a claim rests with the Insurer in line with the policy wording.

See our Claims page for the full process, and our Complaints & escalation guide if you are not satisfied with how a claim is being handled.

8. Cancellation & refunds

You may cancel a policy in line with the Insurer's wording, which usually allows a free-look or cooling-off period (often 14 days) for a full refund where no claim has been made. After the free-look period, refunds are calculated on a pro-rata basis less any administration fee specified in the policy. Some short-term covers (e.g. one-off travel) are non-refundable once the journey has started.

9. Intellectual property

The InsureOnGo name, the OnGo wordmark, ChatSure™, Wura™, AutoSalus, ObliGo, LedgerGo, CoopGo, all logos, page designs, software and content are our intellectual property or that of our licensors. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Service for your personal, non-commercial use. All other rights are reserved.

10. Third-party links

The Service may contain links to third-party websites or services. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content, policies or practices. Their inclusion does not imply our endorsement.

11. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the maximum extent permitted by Nigerian law, we exclude all representations, warranties and conditions, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or that the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure or error-free.

12. Limitation of liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under Nigerian law. Subject to that:

  • We are not liable for any decline of cover or claim by an Insurer, except where caused by our own negligent misrepresentation.
  • We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of business, loss of opportunity, or loss of data.
  • Our total aggregate liability in connection with the Service is capped at the total commission we received from your transaction or ₦100,000 — whichever is higher.

13. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claim, loss, liability or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the Service, or any false or misleading information you provide to us or to an Insurer through us.

14. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms, or if required by law or by our regulators. Termination of access does not affect any policy already in force — that remains a contract directly between you and the Insurer.

15. Governing law & disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any dispute will first be referred to good-faith negotiation between the parties. If unresolved after 30 days, the dispute will be referred to mediation under the Lagos Multi-Door Courthouse rules. If still unresolved, the courts of Lagos State have exclusive jurisdiction — without prejudice to your right to escalate insurance complaints to NAICOM.

16. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last reviewed” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent update. For material changes, we will notify you by email, in-app banner or WhatsApp at least 14 days before the change takes effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
