About the role
We're rebuilding Nigeria's insurance infrastructure from the ground up. Our PHP 8.x services power quotes, KYC verification, claims, payments, and the WhatsApp Business API integration that drives ChatSure™. As a senior engineer, you'll own the backend systems several of these flows depend on — and shape how we scale them over the next two years.
What you’ll do
- Lead the design and implementation of core backend services across marketplace, KYC and claims
- Drive technical direction in your domain through design docs, ADRs and pairing
- Mentor mid-level engineers through code review, 1:1s and structured feedback
- Partner with product and design to ship features that move our key metrics
- Own incident response for services you build, including a fair on-call rotation
What we’re looking for
- 5+ years of professional PHP experience, ideally on PHP 7.4 or 8.x
- Strong fluency in MySQL/MariaDB — query optimisation, schema design, indexing
- Production experience building HTTP APIs consumed by mobile and web clients
- Comfort owning systems end-to-end: design, build, test, deploy, monitor
- Track record of mentoring engineers earlier in their career
Nice to have
- Experience integrating with WhatsApp Business Cloud API
- Background in fintech, insurtech or other regulated domains
- Familiarity with AML/CFT, NDPA or PCI-DSS compliance constraints

Frontend Engineer (React)
About the role
You'll shape the interfaces that millions of Nigerians will use to buy and manage their insurance. We care a lot about how things feel — speed, microcopy, motion, accessibility — and we're looking for engineers who do too.
What you’ll do
- Build and maintain the customer-facing dashboard and partner portal in React
- Collaborate closely with our product designer to translate Figma into pixel-true interfaces
- Own performance and accessibility budgets for the products you ship
- Contribute to our shared component library and design tokens
- Participate in user research sessions and weekly product reviews
What we’re looking for
- 3+ years of professional React experience
- Strong CSS fundamentals — layout, animation, responsive design, accessibility
- Comfort with TypeScript and modern build tooling (Vite, esbuild, or similar)
- Eye for craft — you sweat the 1px details and the empty states

- Experience with Tailwind CSS and headless UI libraries (Radix, shadcn/ui)

Product Designer
About the role
You'll be our second full-time designer, partnering directly with the founder on product strategy. Your work will be seen by hundreds of thousands of Nigerians and will shape what trustworthy digital insurance looks like in this market.
What you’ll do
- Lead end-to-end design for two flagship products (marketplace + ChatSure)
- Run lightweight user research and synthesise findings into design decisions
- Build and maintain our design system in Figma alongside the frontend team
- Partner with engineering on QA and the last-mile details that make products feel finished
What we’re looking for
- 4+ years of product design experience, with portfolio showing shipped consumer products
- Strong visual and interaction craft — not just wireframes
- Comfort defining problems, not just solving them
- Experience working closely with engineering, ideally on fast-shipping teams
Nice to have
- Background designing for emerging markets or financial services
- Motion-design skills (Lottie, Rive, or hand-coded CSS animation)
- Public writing or speaking about design practice

Claims Specialist
About the role
Our 72-hour claims promise is the most important thing we tell customers. You'll be the person who makes sure we keep it — every single time. This is a high-trust role with real ownership of customer outcomes.
What you’ll do
- Triage and document incoming claims across motor, health and travel lines
- Coordinate with insurer claims teams to push settlements to completion
- Communicate proactively with customers throughout the claim lifecycle
- Spot patterns in claims data and feed insights back to product and partnerships
What we’re looking for
- 2+ years of claims-handling or insurance operations experience
- Calm, methodical communicator — both in writing and on the phone
- Strong attention to detail and comfort with documentation systems
- Track record of high customer-satisfaction scores
Nice to have
- CII or Nigerian Insurance Institute certification
- Experience handling motor or HMO claims at scale

Insurer Partnerships Manager
About the role
Our marketplace is only as strong as the partners on it. You'll deepen our existing relationships with the likes of Guinea, Staco and Total Health Trust — and bring on the next wave of insurer partners across motor, health, life and specialty lines.
What you’ll do
- Originate and close commercial agreements with NAICOM-licensed insurers
- Manage existing insurer relationships end-to-end — commercials, ops, escalations
- Negotiate SLAs, commission structures and product terms
- Represent InsureOnGo at industry events and NAICOM stakeholder forums
What we’re looking for
- 5+ years in insurance, broking or B2B sales, with a strong existing Nigerian insurer network
- Senior commercial chops — you've owned an annual partnerships number
- Deep understanding of the Nigerian insurance landscape, NAICOM, and broker dynamics
- Polished written and verbal communication for executive-level audiences

- Prior experience at a NAICOM-licensed insurer or broker
- Network within bancassurance and digital-distribution channels

Growth Marketing Lead
About the role
You'll be the first dedicated growth hire and report directly to the founder. The PlugMe referral programme is already running; the rest of the growth stack is yours to build.
What you’ll do
- Own and continuously improve paid acquisition across Meta, Google and TikTok
- Build the lifecycle programme — onboarding, renewal nudges, win-back
- Scale the PlugMe referral programme through Ambassadors and Charter Partners
- Define and report on the growth dashboard: CAC, LTV, payback, channel mix
What we’re looking for
- 5+ years of growth or performance-marketing experience at consumer companies
- Hands-on with ad-manager UIs — you don't need an agency to ship campaigns
- Strong SQL or analytics fluency — you can pull and interpret your own data
- Disciplined experimentation practice (hypothesis → test → readout)
Nice to have
- Worked at a fintech or insurtech in Nigeria or a comparable market

About the role
You'll be the human voice behind Wura — stepping in when AI hands off, resolving the messy edge cases, and turning frustrated customers into advocates.
What you’ll do
- Handle inbound conversations on WhatsApp, email and phone within SLA
- Help customers complete quotes, policy changes, claim notifications and complaints
- Surface recurring issues to product and engineering with concrete examples
- Maintain a tone of care and competence in every customer interaction
What we’re looking for
- 2+ years in customer support, ideally for a digital consumer product
- Excellent written English — warm, clear and concise
- Comfort using a CRM / help-desk tool and switching between conversations
- Patience and emotional intelligence — especially around claims-related stress
Nice to have
- Conversational Yoruba, Hausa or Igbo
- Prior insurance, banking or telco support experience
